God led them not by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was nearer; for God said.Lest the people change their purpose when they see war and return to Egypt- Exodus 13.17

Exodus is a great book of trials and strengthening. I keep getting people say to me that God is supposed to be good so why does he allw pain and suffering. His purpose is not always clear at the time but his Kingly wisdom is such that his higher purpose is always for the greater good. The pain and suffering of History has taught us many things. So when God leads us down a hard path it is important that we stand firm in Him because you can guarantee that his actions are from a loving Father who knows and sees so much mre than we humanly can.
